What is it like?

After deciding that you want to catch a life story, we will discuss all the details of the interview process and decide on a recording date and location.  When the special day arrives, an experienced Storycatcher will meet with the person being interviewed.

Storycatchers uses microphones and the latest in digital recording technology to capture a life story.  This is an audio-only process, which we have found to be the best way to save life stories.

Sound as a keepsake

The written word and home-videos are important keepsakes, but when it comes to capturing someone's intimate memories of their life, we notice people relax and open up when a camera isn't present. And the importance of the spoken word is huge — to hear the voice of a loved one is irreplaceable.

Compassion and comfort

Rest assured, the entire process will be conducted with your friend or relative in mind -- gentleness and respect will be of utmost importance. This is a special but sometimes emotional time for the person being interviewed, and we ensure that the process is handled professionally.

It’s important that we share our experiences with other people. Your story will heal you and your story will heal somebody else. When you tell your story, you free yourself and give other people permission to acknowledge their own story.
